THIS WEEK
The University of Iowa women’s golf team will play in the 18th annual Saluki Invitational on March 25-26. The Hawkeyes will compete against 16 schools at the 6,075 yard, par 72 Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale, Ill. Southern Illinois is hosting the 36-hole tournament. Both rounds will begin with 9 a.m. (CT) shotgun starts.

THE LINEUP
The Hawkeyes will take the scores of senior Chelsea Harris, juniors Kristi Cardwell and Gigi DiGrazia, and freshmen Lauren English and Shelby Phillips. Iowa has used the same lineup in every tournament this season.
THE COMPETITION
The 17-team field includes; Austin Peay, Chicago State, Dayton, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Indiana State, Iowa, IPFW, IUPUI, John A. Logan, Loyola Chicago, Nebraska-Omaha, Northern Illinois, Rend Lake, Southern Illinois, SIU Edwardsville, Western Illinois. Ninety-six individuals will compete at the event. Southern Illinois is the tournament’s defending champion.
HARRIS, PHILLIPS POST SEASON-BEST FINISHES
UI senior Chelsea Harris and freshman Shelby Phillips posted season-best finishes at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on March 13-14. Harris fired a team-best 227 (77-76-74, +11) to finish tied for ninth, besting a 12th place tie at the Westbrook Spring Invitational on Feb. 26-27. The Normal, Ill., native finished a career-best fourth at the Hawkeye Invitational on Aug. 18-19, 2010. Phillips tied for 31st after carding a 235 (76-75-84, +19). Her previous season-best finish was a 33rd place tie (twice).
IOWA’S RECORD SETTING PACE
The Hawkeyes are taking an average score of 76.4 halfway through the spring schedule. The school-record is 76.3, set in the fall of 2010.
HAWKEYES SET SCHOOL RECORD
The Hawkeyes carded a 54-hole school-record 879 (290-294-295, +15) on Feb. 26-27 at the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, Ariz. The previous school best was an 888, set at the Challenge at Onion Creek on Nov. 2-3, 2009. Iowa also tied the 36-hole school record with a combined first and second round score of 584. The Hawkeyes first round 290 tied for the second-lowest team round in school history
FIVE FOR FIVE
All five members of the Hawkeye lineup set shot season-best 54-hole scores at the Westbrook Spring Invitational on Feb. 26-27. Chelsea Harris led Iowa with a 217 (74-73-70, +1), Lauren English and Gigi DiGrazia carded 221, while Shelby Phillips posted a 224 (73-76-75, +8). Kristi Cardwell rounded out the Hawkeye scorecard with a 225 (71-79-75=225).
