IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa men’s golfers Joseph Winslow and Steven Ihm each competed in amateur tournaments recently. Winslow played in the second annual Patriot All-America Invitational in Litchfield Park, Ariz., while Ihm played in the South Beach International Amatuer in Miami, Fla.

Ihm and former Hawkeye golfer Chris Brant participated in the tournament last season.

Ihm tied for 20th in the South Beach International Amateur, closing the tournament on Dec. 21st with a four-round score of 286 (+3). The junior from Peosta, Iowa, carded two rounds under par after shooting a 68 (-3) in the second and third rounds. Action was held at the Miami Beach Golf Club.

Winslow and Ihm had Iowa’s top-two lowest stroke averages in the fall season. The Hawkeyes open their spring season with the Big Ten Match Play Championships in Bradenton, Fla., on Feb. 8-9th.
