Jil Price Joins UI Communications Staff

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa Athletic Communications Office today announced the appointment of Jil Price as assistant director.

Price will serve as the primary contact for the volleyball and softball programs, while also assisting with additional areas of publicity as well. She will begin her duties on Monday, June 10.

Price previously worked in the athletics media services office at Western Illinois University as a graduate assistant for two years. The 2006 Carroll High School (Fort Wayne, Ind.) graduate earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with minors in Journalism and Public Relations from Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne (IPFW) in 2011 and a Master of Science in Sport Management from Western Illinois in 2013.

During her time at Western, Price served as the primary contact for cross country, women’s basketball, women’s soccer, softball, swimming and diving and tennis. She also assisted in game day operations for all Fighting Leatherneck athletic programs and served as the academic and community service liaison.

At IPFW, she spent a year as an intern and volunteer in the Office of Media Services, where she served as the primary contact for cross country, assisted with game day operations and updated the athletic web site. Price was also an outfielder for the Mastodon softball team and a member of the Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) during her undergraduate career.

With the hiring of Price, assistant director Patrick Sojka becomes the primary contact for women’s basketball, effectively immediately.
