IOWA CITY, Iowa — Fans of the Hawkeyes who plan on attending Saturday’s women’s basketball game against Drake and/or the wrestling team’s dual meet against Penn State, take note: There’s a special event planned to help you get ready for these big events.
A “Hawkeye Huddle” has been scheduled between noon and 3 p.m. at the Downtown Sheraton in Iowa City. The Huddle, which is being presented by UI Photo Services, will include snacks, beverages for purchase, and lots of door prizes. It will also include an appearance by the Iowa Spirit Squad and Herky, and a “Meet and Greet” with members of the Hawkeye Wrestling Club who will be available for autographs and photographs.
It will conclude with the unveiling of the first two statues in the 2014 Herky on Parade public art project: Wrestler Herky and Basketball Herky.
The Iowa women’s basketball game against Drake is scheduled to tip off shortly after 4 p.m. The nationally ranked Iowa wrestling team’s dual meet against defending national champion Penn State is scheduled to begin shortly after 8 p.m.
