DALLAS — The third round of the Dallas Athletic Club Invitational was scratched 45 minutes into the round on Sunday morning due to lightning in the Dallas area.
“It was certainly disappointing to not get the third round in,” said head coach Megan Menzel. “We needed to make a move on the leaderboard. This was a great top-20 finish for Allison, and I’m excited about how she can help our team.”
Iowa recorded a 315 (+27) on Friday and Saturday for a two-round total of 630 (+54). Their score was good for 15th in a field of 16 teams, including eight ranked opponents.
After 36 holes, freshman Allison Lindley was the Hawkeyes’ top finisher. Lindley carded a career best 151 (+7) to tie for 16th place.
Iowa returns to action at the Lady Buckeye Invitational on April 19-20. The 54-hole tournament will be hosted by Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.
