Jordan Wins Dayton Women's Amateur

BELLBROOK, Ohio — University of Iowa junior Jessie Jordan won the 81st Dayton Women’s Amateur Championship at the Sugar Valley Golf Club on Saturday, defeating her opponent in the championship match by a score of 5 & 4. Jordan earned a spot in the championship flight of the match play tournament after carding a one-under-par 143 (71, 72) in the stroke play portion of the event.

In stroke play, Jordan earned par or better on 30 of 36 holes, accumulating 23 pars and seven birdies. Jordan cruised through the match play bracket, defeating her opponents by scores of 8 & 6, 2 & 1 and 4 & 3 before winning her final match.

Jordan, a native of Urbana, Ohio, transferred to Iowa from Wisconsin prior to the 2013-14 season. She did not see action for the Hawkeyes in 2014.
