JOHNSTON and IOWA CITY, Iowa — In the state of Iowa, it isn’t uncommon at all to meet a corn farmer. However, it is uncommon to meet a farmer that has become a national phenomenon.
Chris Soules, a farmer from Arlington, Iowa, isn’t your average corn farmer. Thanks to his participation in the most recent edition of ABC-TV’s hit romance reality series The Bachelorette, Soules has given the nation a far different view of the men and women who work the land to feed the world. And, he’ll soon take that image to an entirely new level when he stars as the Bachelor in the 19th edition of The Bachelor, which airs in January 2015 on ABC.
Fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cylcones will have the opportunity to meet Chris before Saturday’s Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series football game at historic Kinnick Stadium. Soules will be available for photographs and autographs from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. in the Krause Family Plaza located at the south end of the home of the Hawkeyes.
The Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk football game also includes a special farmer member tailgate for the Iowa Corn Growers Association, a 360 degree high resolution gigapixel photo in Kinnick Stadium, and the chance for fans to win a new Flex Fuel Chevy Equinox wrapped in your favorite school.
The Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk football game is a part of the overall Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series where points are tracked for all head to head match ups and a point is awarded for academics. Iowa Corn is the proud sponsor of the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series because it is about the fans, the student-athletes , and the farmers behind the sponsorship, that makes us uniquely Iowa.

Editor’s Note: The Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series is part of a 4 year partnership with both Hawkeye Sports Properties and Cyclone Sports Properties. The promotion includes radio, television, internet, and on-site marketing. The campaign highlights the many uses for corn and its importance to Iowa.
