SEBRING, Fla. — University of Iowa golfer Jessica Ip tied for 28th at the 61st Harder Hall Women’s Invitational on Jan. 9 at the Harder Hall Golf Club. The sophomore carded a five-over-par 77 in her final round to finish with a 72-hole total of 309 (+21).
Ip carded an 80 (+8) in her first round on Wednesday, making par or better on 11 holes. Ip shot her best round on Thursday, turning in a two-over-par 74. The Richmond Hill, Ontario, native matched par on 12 holes and recorded birdies on holes 12 and 16 to advance to the Championship Division.
After carding a 78 (+6) on day three, Ip fired a 77 (+5) in her final round to solidify her 28th-place finish. Ohio State’s Jessica Porvasnik was the tournament’s medalist at four-under-par (73, 68, 74, 69: 284).
Ip competed in all four competitions in the fall, registering a 72.6 scoring average — the best scoring average on the team. She paced the team with a career-best first place finish at the Diane Thomason Invitational on Sept. 9, carding a three-round total of 212 (-4) with rounds of 70, 69 and 73.
