Hawkeyes 7th Through 36 at Buckeye Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The University of Iowa women’s golf team sits in seventh place following Saturday’s first two rounds of the Lady Buckeye Invitational. The Hawkeyes posted scores of 306 and 304 on the first 36 holes at the Scarlet Golf Course, for a total of 610 (+34).

No. 14 Kent State leads the field (-1; 575), while Indiana sits in second (+10; 586).

Senior Amy Ihm paced the Hawkeyes with a two-round total of 148 (+4; 73, 75) to tie for 12th place heading to the final round. Ihm’s two rounds were highlighted by an impressive 29 holes at or below par, including birdies on holes six, 14, and 15.

Junior Jessie Sindlinger recorded the second best finish for the Hawkeyes, posting a two-round score of 153 (+9) with rounds of 75 (+3) and 78 (+6). Sindlinger made par or better on 13 holes in her first round and added a birdie on 16 in round two. She is tied for 29th heading to the final round.

Sophomore Jessica Ip posted a 74 (+2) in second round action for a two-round total of 158 (+14). Her rounds were highlighted by 23 holes at par and a birdie on hole 16. The sophomore is tied for 45th with one round left to play.

Sophomore Anna Kim made her debut in the Hawkeye lineup, posting rounds of 78 (+6) and 82 (+10) for a two-round total of 160 (+16). Kim carded 19 holes at par or better to tie for 49th with 18 holes left to play.

Rounding out the Hawkeyes were sophomore Elisa Suarez and freshman Monika Poomcharoen. The pair sits tied for 57th after carding a two round total of 162 (+XX). Suarez carded rounds of 80 (+8) and 82 (+10) with 20 holes at or below par. Poomcharoen posted rounds of 85 (+13) and 77 (+5). The freshman made par on 16 holes and added birdies on holes 14, 16, and 18.

The final round of the Lady Buckeye Invitational begins tomorrow with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. (CT). Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
