In his third 110-meter hurdle race of the season, Mallett set a meet record in a season-best 13.50, the fourth-fastest time in the nation. He also ran the second leg on the winning 400-meter relay (40.33). The defending Big Ten champion has led the conference in the 110-meter hurdles for four straight weeks since making his season-hurdle debut at the Pepsi Florida Relays on April 1.

The weekly award is the second outdoor track honor of Mallett’s career and the first this season. He is the fourth Hawkeye this season to earn weekly conference honors. Freshman Christian Brissett and junior Maddie Rouw were recognized March 23, and junior All-American Elexis Guster earned the award on April 13.

Mallett shares the weekly recognition with Penn State’s Brannon Kidder.

The Hawkeyes return to the action this weekend at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
