IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa freshman Nia Britt competes in the shot put at the 2016 USATF Junior Outdoor Championships on Sunday in Clovis, California.
Britt, who redshirted for the Hawkeyes in 2016, qualified for the national championship with a mark of 48-6 (14.78m) at Musco Twilight XVII. She won the event competing unattached.
The USATF Junior Outdoor Championships begin Friday at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium at Buchanan High School. Women’s shot put begins Sunday at 6:40 p.m. CT. The top two finishers in each event qualify for the 2016 IAAF U20 Championships (formerly World Junior Championships) in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
