Sougstad Qualifies for NCAA Championships

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa senior Emma Sougstad has qualified for the 2017 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships for a third straight year.  The championships will be held at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis from March 15-18.
 
Sougstad will compete in the 100-yard breaststroke on March 17. She currently ranks 12th in the country in the event with a time of 59.31 seconds.  
 
The Forest City, Iowa, native qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 breast, 200 breast, and 200 IM in each of the past two seasons.  In 2016, Sougstad earned honorable-mention All-America honors in the 100-breast after placing ninth with a school-record time of 59.00 seconds.
