IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa volleyball assistant coach Bre Payton will be inducted into the University of Northern Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame on Sept. 8.

Payton played for the Panthers from 2008-11 and was a member of four consecutive NCAA Tournament teams. She was a three-time MVC Player of the Year and a three-time All-American. Payton ranks No. 3 on UNI’s all-time assist chart with 4,752 assists.

Payton has been with the Hawkeyes for the last three years and works with the program’s setters. Under her tutelage, Loxley Keala became the eighth player in program history to reach 2,000 assists. Payton was also instrumental in helping guide the Hawkeyes to a 19-13 record in 2016, which was the program’s first winning record since 2000.
