Strandberg Qualifies for NCAA Championships on Final Day of Zones

MINNEAPOLIS — Sophomore Thelma Strandberg qualified for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships off the platform Wednesday at the Jean Freeman Aquatic Center.
 
Strandberg qualified for her second straight NCAA Championships after placing eighth with 498.20 points. The Kristiansand, Norway, native was 10th in the prelims with a score of 244.00 before moving up two spots on the leaderboard.
 
Freshmen Anton Hoherz and Jonatan Posligua finished 13th and 19th off the platform in the prelims with scores of 311.40 and 241.70, respectively. Hoherz moved to the finals totaling 655.50 points in the finals to place ninth overall.
 
Strandberg will join freshman Jayah Mathews and sophomore Hannah Burvill at the NCAA Championships from March 14-17 in Columbus, Ohio.
