COLUMBUS, Ohio — Rain, wind, and a tornado warning later, sophomore Alex Schaake is tied for 24th at five-over-par after a shortened second round at the NCAA Regionals. With four holes remaining in his second round, Schaake was three-over-par on the day, including two birdies at the par-71 Scarlet Course.

The second round will be resumed at 6 a.m. (CT) tomorrow, followed by round three. Schaake will be chasing Michigan’s Kyle Mueller, among others, who is one-over-par and the top individual not from the top-five teams at the regional. Four strokes and eight players separate Schaake from advancing to the NCAA Championships.

Back-to-back birdies on holes nine and 10 was the highpoint of Schaake’s round today. Schaake parred all fours holes yesterday that he has to finish in round two.
