IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa junior Shawn Rennegarbe and freshman Stephanie Herzog have been named 2018 All-American Scholars, the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced Tuesday.
Rennegarbe and Herzog are two of 1,011 women’s collegiate golfers recognized with the prestigious honor. All recipients have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
A native of Addieville, Illinois, Rennegarbe competed in all 10 tournaments for the Hawkeyes last season. She carded a career-best finish at the Hawkeye El-Tigre Invitational (March 16-17), tying for 20th with a three-round total of 225 (+9).
Herzog, a native of Red Wing, Minnesota, competed in six tournaments in her freshman campaign. She registered a career-best finish at the Hawkeye El-Tigre Invitational with a three-round score of 235 (+19).
The Hawkeyes return seven letterwinners for the 2018-19 season.
