Albuquerque, N.M. — Senior Kristin Glesne tied for 33rd overall to lead the University of Iowa women’s golf team at the Branch Law Firm Invitational on Tuesday. The Hawkeyes carded a 54-hole score of 909 (+45) to finish 13th.
 
No. 15 Kent State finished first with a three-round total of 858 (-6). No. 49 Pepperdine (863; -1) finished second and No. 44 San Diego State (866, +2) finished third.

 IOWA’S TOP PERFORMER
Glesne lead the Hawkeyes throughout the tournament, tying for 33rd overall with a 54-hole score of 221 (+5). Glesne finished the third round three-over-par with one birdie. 
 
COMPETING INDIVIDUALLY
Freshman Dana Lerner competed individually, tying for 63rd with total of 228 (+12). She jumped up 10 spots on the leaderboard in round three, utilizing two birdies to register a one-over-par 73.
 
LIZARAZU BOUNCES BACK
Manuela Lizarazu registered her best round as a Hawkeye on Tuesday. The freshman carded three birdies en route to a one-over-par 73. Lizarazu tied for 70th overall with a three-round total of 230 (+14).
 
UNDERCLASSMEN IMPACT
Two sophomores and two freshmen competed for Iowa at the Branch Law Firm Invite. Freshmen Dana Lerner and Manuela Lizarazu saw their first action as Hawkeyes this week. Iowa’s starting lineup also featured sophomores Rachel Fujitani and Stephanie Herzog.

UP NEXT
The Hawkeyes travel to Knoxville, Tennessee, to compete in the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championship next week. The tournament runs Sept. 17-18 and will be played at Cherokee Country Club.
