Lizarazu in 2nd After 1st Round

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico – Freshman Manuela Lizarazu paced the University of Iowa women’s golf team during the first round of the Battle at the Beach on Friday. Lizarazu registered a season-best,18-hole score of 70 (-1). She is tied for second. 
 
Auburn is in first with an 18-hole score of 287 (+3). They are followed by Texas (292; +8) and Mississippi State (294; +10).Iowa is in 13th, carding a score of 308 (+24). 
 
LIZARAZU SHINES ON FIRST DAY
Freshman Manuela Lizarazu recorded four birdies during the first round en-route to a one-under-par 70. The last time Lizarazu finished under-par was at the Diane Thomason Invitational on Sept. 29-30. 
 
LIU ENTERS HAWKEYE LINEUP
Sophomore Sophie Liu made her first appearance of the season in the Hawkeye lineup today. Liu finished the first round with an 18-hole score of 77 (+6), tying for 45th. Liu also registered three birdies. Sophomore Brett Permann carded a first round score of 79 (+8), tying for 66th. Sophomore Stephanie Herzog and senior Shawn Rennegarbe finished the first round in 86th and 92nd, respectively.
