Brenner, Hoherz Head to Austin for NCAAs

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa will send divers Will Brenner and Anton Hoherz — first time NCAA qualifiers — to Austin, Texas, for the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
 
Brenner will compete off the 1-meter springboard on Thursday, while Hoherz will dive off the platform Saturday.

Brenner, a senior from Ypsilanti, Michigan, holds the top scores off both springboards in his senior season, pulling in season highs of 394.30 off the 3-meter and 364.65 off the 1-meter. He also holds the 1-meter school record with a score of 368.00, after capturing the victory against South Dakota during his freshman year.
 
Hoherz, a sophomore from Spring, Texas, is the platform school record holder with a score of 415.65 at last year’s Big Ten Championships. His score of 365.35 against Michigan and Denver earlier this season secured him as the team’s top scorer in the event.
