Freshmen Lead Iowa Through 1st Round

MAINEVILLE, Ohio – Freshmen Dana Lerner and Manuela Lizarazu led the University of Iowa women’s golf team through the first round of the Big Ten Championships. Lerner is tied for 14th after tallying 18-hole score of 74 (+2) at TPC River’s Bend on Friday.

Illinois is in first after carding a first round score of 291 (+3). Ohio State and Indiana are tied for second with 18-hole scores of 294 (+6). Iowa is in 12th, registering a one-round score of 310 (+22).

HAWKEYE LEADERBOARD
Freshman Dana Lerner leads Iowa after carding two birdies in the first round, finishing two-over-par. Lerner is tied for 14th. Freshman Manuela Lizarazu is tied for 27th after recording two birdies en-route to finishing the first round three-over-par. Senior Kristin Glesne registered one birdie on the front-nine, finishing with an 18-hole total of 80 (+8). Senior Shawn Rennegarbe and sophomore Brett Permann are tied for 69th after carding a one-round score of 81 (+9). Sophomore Stephanie Herzog is tied for 75th.
