ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Sophomore Manuela Lizarazu tied for 58th overall, leading the University of Iowa women’s golf team at the Branch Law Firm Invitational on Tuesday. The Hawkeyes carded a 54-hole score of 902 (+38) to finish 13th.
No. 11 Kent State finished first with a three-round total of 848 (-16), Pepperdine (855; -9) finished second, and Iowa State and Ole Miss tied for third with a score of 862 (-2).
Lizarazu led the Hawkeyes with a combined score of 227 (+11). Freshman Morgan Goldstein and junior Stephanie Herzog tied for 63rd with a three-round total of 228 (+12). Herzog jumped thirteen places on the leaderboard Tuesday and totaled six birdies and 33 pars over the course of three rounds. Goldstein finished the third round five-over-par.
Freshman Jacquelyn Galloway tied for 77th with a three-round-total of 232 (+16). The freshman shot six over par in the third round and carded a total of five birdies overall. Sophomore Dana Lerner was disqualified from the tournament due to a carding error in the first round.

UP NEXT
The Hawkeyes travel to Madison, Wisconsin, to compete in the East West Match Play Challenge. The tournament runs September 22-24 and will be played at the University Ridge Golf Course.
