Zeitler Finishes Top 5 at East West Challenge

MADISON, Wis. — The University of Iowa women’s golf team finished stroke-play of the East West Match Play Challenge on Monday with a 36-hole score of 595 (+19). The Hawkeyes finished sixth overall.
 
The underclassmen paved the way for the Hawkeyes. In her opening debut, freshman Lea Zeitler finished stroke-play in the top five on the player leaderboard.
 
Zeitler led the way for Iowa with a two-round score of 142 (-2). Zeitler shot even in round one and two under par in round two. She jumped two spots on the leaderboard and bagged six birdies and 27 pars finishing fifth in the tournament.
 
Sophomore Manuela Lizarazu scored a 36-hole total of 151 (+7) tying for 28th place. Freshmen Jacquelyn Galloway tied for 30th with a total score of 152 (+8) and freshman Morgan Goldstein tied for 32nd with a total score of 153 (+9). Junior Stephanie Herzog rounded out stroke play with a score of 154 (+10) and tied for 34th place.
 
Senior Sarah Overton competed individually for the Hawkeyes. Overton collected a 36-hole score of 171 (+27).
