STARKVILLE, M.S. — The Hawkeyes finished the first round of the Magnolia Invitational in 9th place with a score of 311 (+23). Freshman Jacquelyn Galloway led the Hawkeyes with an 18-hole score of 73 (+1).

Galloway finished round one tied for 12th and carded 11 pars and three birdies out of the team’s eight birdies. No. 23 Louisiana State University leads the meet with an 18-round score of 289 (+1), followed by No. 36 Auburn, 290 (+2) and No. 25 Mississippi State, 290 (+6). Sophomore Manuela Lizarazu tied for 32nd with a one-round score of 78 (+6). Lizarazu collected four birdies and seven pars. Sophomore Dana Lerner ended the day with a score of 79 (+7) tying for 39th. Freshman Lea Zeitler tied for 49th and carded a score of 81 (+9). Freshman Morgan Goldstein finished 58th with a score of 85 (+13).

Senior Sarah Overton competed individually for the Hawkeyes and finished round one tied for 46th with a score of 80 (+8). Overton collected two birdies.
