SAN JOSE DEL CABO, Mexico – The University of Iowa women’s golf team completed day two of the Battle at the Beach in Mexico on Saturday. The Hawkeyes have a two-round score of 611 (+35) and are 14th in the tournament, moving a place from day one.
No. 14 Ole Miss leads the tournament with a two-round total of 580 (+4). No. 18 Louisiana State sits in second place with a total score of 581 (+5) followed by No. 20 Virginia Tech with a score of 586 (+10).
Freshman Jacquelyn Galloway jumped 19 spots on the leaderboard and is tied for 12th in the tournament. Galloway shot a 70 (-2) in round two, giving her a 36-hole score of 146 (+2). She has a combined total of six birdies.
Freshman Lea Zeitler shot 75 (+3) during the second round, making her two-round total 150 (+6). Zeitler is tied for 34th. Sophomore Manuela Lizarazu is tied for 59th with a 36-hole total of 155 (+11). Lizarazu has a combined total of six birdies.
Sophomore Dana Lerner has a 36-hole total of 160 (+16) and is tied for 71st. Senior Sarah Overton is in 82nd place and has a two-round score of 165 (+21).
The final round of the Battle at the Beach continues on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 9:15 a.m. (CT).
