SAN JOSE DEL CABO, Mexico – The University of Iowa women’s golf team finished up its fall season in Mexico on Sunday. The Hawkeyes finished the Battle at the Beach with a 54-hole score of 904 (+40) and tied for 12th, jumping two spots on the third day.
No. 14 Ole Miss won the tournament with a total score of 857 (-7). No. 18 Louisiana State was second in the tournament with a 54-hole score of 864 (E). Texas Christian finished third in the tournament with a total score of 869 (+5).
Freshman Lea Zeitler finished the tournament tied for 16th with a total score of 218 (+2). Freshman Jacquelyn Galloway carded a 54-hole total of 219 (+3) tying for 21st.
Sophomore Manuela Lizarazu tied for 62nd with a three-round total of 222 (+15). Sophomore Dana Lerner carded a 54-hole total of 240 (+24) and tied for 79th. Senior Sarah Overton finished 81st with a total score of 241 (+25).
The Hawkeyes will open their 2020 spring season on Feb. 16-18 at the Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana.
