University of Iowa volleyball junior Brie Orr caught up with hawkeyesports.com for a Q&A on working out at home, becoming a better leader, making the NCAA Tournament, and more.

Q: Where are you right now?
A:   I am currently at my apartment in Iowa city!

Q: How are you interacting with teammates?
A:  I talk to my teammates every day and we FaceTime, snapchat and text each other as well.

Q: What are you doing for workouts?
A: Our strength coach Zach has given us all work outs based on what resources we have available so it makes it really easy to stay on track with working out. There is conditioning that we can do outside and other strength activities that we can use things around the house as weight!

Q: How has your role changed over the last three years?
A: My role has changed a lot over the past 3 years and mostly about responsibility and leadership. Our coaches have helped me develop into a stronger leader and I’m very thankful for that!

Q: What are you most looking forward to when you get back on the court?
A: I am most looking forward to getting on the court with my teammates and playing competitive volleyball again. I miss the team and all of the girls so much so I can’t wait until we are all together again!

Q: How has the adjustment gone to online classes?
A: The adjustment has gone pretty well and since there is not a lot to do right now, when I’m bored I like to get ahead on homework to make it easier for me later!

Q: What is one thing you want to accomplish this year?
A: One thing I want to accomplish this year is to get some great B1G wins in Xtream Arena and make it to the NCAA tournament!

Q: What is something you and your family do to pass the time?
A: My extended family and I have been doing tiktok challenges where we make tiktok videos and send them in our family group chat!

Q: What is your major and future career plans?
A: I am a communications major with a minor in rhetoric and persuasion and a certificate in event planning. My plan is to be an event planner after college.
