Goldstein Travels Home with the Hawkeyes

LAS VEGAS — The University of Iowa women’s golf team travels to Las Vegas, Nevada, to compete at the UNLV Rebel Beach Invitational at Spanish Trail Country Club on Feb. 15-16.

The Rebel Beach Invitational is a 54-hole collegiate tournament played at the par-72, 6,400-yard course. Competition begins on Monday, Feb. 15 at 8:30 a.m. (PT) for the first two rounds. The 13-team field includes, BYU, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, Iowa, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, SMU, Tulsa, UNR, UTSA and UNLV.

Sophomore Morgan Goldstein receives the opportunity to travel back to her hometown to compete and luckily enough, “I also am super excited to see my family, we just got a new puppy so I’m most excited to see how big she’s gotten,” Goldstein said.

Spanish Trail Country Club is a familiar course for Goldstein. “A fun little fact is that my Grandma lives in the community,” Goldstein said. Junior Dana Lerner visited and trained with Goldstein at the course over winter break for a week.

Spanish Trail Golf Course is known for beautiful rolling hills and tree-lined fairways and has hosted the PGA Las Vegas Invitational five times.
