IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa volleyball team released its complete 2021 schedule, which includes 13 home games at Xtream Arena in Coralville.
The schedule includes 30 contests, 10 nonconference and 20 conference. Iowa opens the season against Duke and Coastal Carolina in the Coastal Carolina Invitational in Conway, South Carolina (Aug. 28) before traveling to Champaign, Illinois, to face Colorado (Sep. 3) and Washington (Sept. 4) in the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge.
- Iowa’s home opener will be Thursday, Sept. 9, versus Syracuse in the Cy-Hawk Series Tournament. The Hawkeyes will also host Ball State (Sept. 10) and instate rival Iowa State (Sept. 11) that weekend.
- The Hawkeyes will face opponents from the Atlantic Coast, Big 12, Mountain West, Pac-12, Southland, Summit, and Sun Belt Conferences in nonconference action.
- Iowa will face six teams that qualified for the spring 2021 NCAA Tournament in Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Washington, and Wisconsin.
- Iowa faces Minnesota, Maryland, Ohio State, Rutgers, Penn State, and Purdue once this season. The Hawkeyes will play Illinois, Nebraska, Michigan State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Indiana both home and away.
Vicki Brown enters her third season as head coach of the Hawkeyes. Iowa returns 15 letterwinners next season, while adding a graduate transfer and two newcomers to the roster.
