Miranda Fires Second Straight Even Par Round

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Freshman Paula Miranda recorded her second consecutive even par 72 to lead the University of Iowa women’s golf team at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate.

Miranda had three birdies during the round to put her into sole possession of 12th place heading into Sunday’s final round. This was Miranda’s third round at or below par this season and her second of the weekend.

Junior Dana Lerner had a strong round two, pushing her into the top 40. Lerner’s front nine holes consisted of three birdies and a two-under par 34. Lerner finished the day with a score of 73 (+1) and has a two-round total of 148 (+4).

The Hawkeyes sit in 13th place through 36 holes with a 17-over-par, 593. East Tennessee State still holds the lead following round two at -9, holding a four-shot lead over Cal Poly.

– Lerner moved up 12 places from round one to round two and recorded a front nine score of 34 (-2)
– Iowa is tied for sixth for most birdies through two rounds with a total of 27.
