Iowa Opens Play in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The University of Iowa women’s golf team sits in 19th place following the opening round of the Chattanooga Classic, which is being played at the Council Fire Golf Club. The Hawkeyes fired a 321 over the first 18 holes.

Two players – juniors Jacque Galloway and Dana Lerner – are tied for 60th place to lead the team. Galloway opened with birdies over two of her first three holes before finishing with a seven-over par 79. Lerner also had a pair of birdies on holes 13 and 14 to get to +4, but she bogeyed her final three holes to finish at seven over.

The Hawkeyes will resume play Monday in Chattanooga, teeing off at 7:30 a.m. (CT).
