Iowa Opens Play in the Lone Star State

SAN ANTONIO – The University of Iowa women’s golf team sits in ninth place with a 621 (311-310) total through the first 36 holes of the Maryb. S. Kauth Invitational, which is being held at the San Antonio Country Club.

Freshman Paula Miranda is leading the team, as she is sitting in a tie for 14th place with a three-over par 147. The Mexico native had two birdies during the first round and she pared all but two holes on the back to finish with rounds of 73 and 74.

Junior Morgan Goldstein, who is competing as an individual, fired a two-over par 74 during her second round on Tuesday. She is currently tied for 35th with a 155 (81-74).
