ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Incoming University of Iowa women’s wrestler Nyla Valencia won the Last Chance World Team Trials Qualifier on Friday at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City.
The title qualifies Valencia for the Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament that will be held May 21-22 at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa.
Valencia dominated the competition in New Jersey, outscoring her opponents, 34-0, in three matches.
The Hawkeyes will have two competitors – Valencia and Nanea Estrella – competing next weekend in Coralville.
