IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa men’s golf team will compete in five tournaments during the 2022 fall season, including hosting the Iowa Fall Classic at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, Iowa.
Iowa opens the season Sept. 4-5 at the Fighting Irish Classic, hosted by Notre Dame at the Warren Course in South Bend, Indiana. The Hawkeyes finished 10th at the event last fall, with current seniors Ronan Kleu and Mac McClear tying for eighth on the leaderboard at 206 (-4) through 54-holes.
Next, Iowa heads to the Inverness Golf Club in Toledo, Ohio, on Sept. 26-27 for the Inverness Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Toledo. The Hawkeyes then travel to Lafayette, Indiana, for the Purdue Invitational at the Kampen Course on Oct. 10-11.
Iowa hosts the Iowa Fall Classic the following week, Oct. 16-17, at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, Iowa. The Hawkeyes return to one of the top courses in the state of Iowa for the first time since the 2009 Golfweek Conference Challenge. Iowa finished runner-up to Florida State at that event, with Hawkeye Brad Hopfinger tying for medalist honors alongside the Seminoles’ Drew Kittleson at 207 (-9) through three rounds.
The Hawkeyes close out the fall slate Oct. 21-23 with the Williams Cup, hosted by North Carolina at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, North Carolina. Iowa tied for ninth at the event last season.
