Dabagia Tallies Top 10 Finish; Hawkeyes Place 5th at Tulane Classic

NEW ORLEANS – Freshman Madison Dabagia’s first career top 10 finish propelled the University of Iowa women’s golf team to a fifth-place team finish at the Tulane Classic presented by Chad Brownstein. The Hawkeyes shot a final round 305 to finish with a 54-hole total of 919 (315-299-305) at English Turn Golf and Country Club.

Dabagia shot a final round 75 to finish the three-day tournament with a nine-over par 226. The Fort Wayne, Indiana, native had 11 birdies during the week en route to the highest finish of her Hawkeye career.

Freshman Riley Lewis had a strong final round, shooting a one-over par 73, to move her up 25 places on the individual leaderboard. Lewis had four of her seven birdies during her final 18 holes as she finished in a tie for 27th place with a 231 (80-78-73).

Purdue claimed the team tournament title, finishing with a 897. The Green Waves’ Carla Bernat was the individual medalist, shooting a two-over par 218.
