Lewis Fires 5-Under Par 67 in Jacksonville; Sits in Top 10

JACKSOVILLE, Fla. – Freshman Riley Lewis fired a five-under par 67 to pace the University of Iowa women’s golf team during the second round of the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate on Monday afternoon at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. The 67 is tied for the second-lowest round in school history.

Lewis started her second round with a birdie on hole 10 before giving it back on the 12th. The Illinois native got hot, eagling both the par five 14th and the par five 16th to get to four-under par.

She then posted five straight pars before giving one shot back, but then she had three birdies in a four hole stretch to get to six under. Lewis bogeyed her final hole of the round to finish at 67, giving her a three under par 141 (74-67) (-3) over 36 holes.

Lewis is currently tied for sixth place, sitting five shots off the lead. Furman’s Anna Morgan fired an eight-under par 136 on Monday, while Sam Houston State is atop the team leaderboard with a 564.

Lewis is the fifth Hawkeye to shoot a 67, joining teammate Paula Miranda, Jessica Ip, Shelby Phillips and Brianna Coopman. Lea Zeitler holds the school record with a 66 in 2021.

After shooting a 299 in the first round, the Hawkeyes shaved nine shots off their total over round two. Iowa is tied for 10th place with a 589 (299-290), as it is currently tied with South Alabama. The Hawkeyes are five shots out of fifth place.
