Hawkeyes Move Up on Day 2 at B1G Championships

PITTSBURGH – The University of Iowa women’s golf team had a four-shot improvement to move up two spots in the team standings on day two at the Big Ten Championships. The Hawkeyes fired a 299 on Saturday, putting them in ninth place with a 602 (303-299) total at Fox Chapel Golf Club.

Freshman Shannyn Vogler fired a one-over par 73 during Saturday’s second round, a three-shot improvement. The Moline, Illinois, had two birdies on the day, putting her in a tie for 21st place heading into Sunday’s final round with a 149 (76-73).

Sophomore Paula Miranda sits two shots back of Vogler with a 151 after shooting a two-over par 74 during Round 2. Miranda has a team-best five birdies across two rounds as she is tied for 35th overall.

Ohio State is leading the championships with a 577, one shot ahead of Illinois. The Fighting Illini have two golfers tied for the individual lead in Isabel Sy and Crystal Wang, who both sit at three-under par.
