LAS VEGAS – Seven University of Iowa women’s wrestlers will travel to Las Vegas this week to compete at the U.S. Open Championships from April 27-30 at the South Point Hotel, Casino, and Spa.
The seven wrestlers will be competing at five different weight classes, and all except three have a top five seeding.
Felicity Taylor (53kg) has the No. 2 seed, while Reese Larramendy (65kg), Bella Mir (68kg), and Kylie Welker (76kg) have the fifth. Nyla Valencia (50kg) is at the No. 6 seed, and Ella Schmit (65kg) has the eighth seed. Ava Bayless does not have a top nine seeding, but she will wrestle at 50kg. This tournament is a qualifying event for the 2023 Senior World Team Trials.
