IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa fifth-year senior Jordan Amelon has been named the team’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient, it was announced Wednesday by the league office.
The award is presented to student-athletes who display good sportsmanship and ethical behavior, are in good academic standing and demonstrate good citizenship outside of athletics. The honor is the first of Amelon’s career.
The Iowa City, Iowa, native competed in 10 tournaments during the 2022-23 season, posting a 78.61 scoring average over 29.5 rounds. Amelon tied for 40th at last week’s Big Ten Championship, finishing with a 229 (75-80-74) total in Pittsburgh.
