Dabagia, Hanna Shine in Round 2

MADISON, Wis. – Sophomore Madison Dabagia and junior Paula Miranda finished with rounds at or below par to lead the University of Iowa women’s golf team in the second round of the Badger Invitational on Monday at the University Ridge Golf Course.

Dabagia carded five birdies, including two over her final three holes to finish with a one-under par 71. It was her sixth career round at or below par. The Indiana native is tied for 13th place with a one-over par 145 (74-71) – four shots off third place.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Hanna enjoyed her best collegiate round on Monday, firing four birdies en route to an even par 72. The Omaha, Nebraska, native birdied her final two holes on the day, putting her in a tie for 28th with a 148 (76-72).

Junior Paula Miranda stacked rounds, as she carded a one-over par 73 during round two after opening the tournament with an even par 72 on Sunday. The Mexico native is tied for 13th place with a 145 (72-73).

As a team, Iowa trimmed two shots off its round from day one to day two, firing a 294. The Hawkeyes sit in eighth place on the team leaderboard with a 590 (296-294) – two shots out of fifth place and seven shots out of third. South Florida is atop the standings with a 577.

True freshman Ximena Benites, who is competing as an individual, shot one-over par 73, which puts her in a tie for 23rd place.
