MADISON, WI – The University of Iowa women’s golf team is in eighth place, while the men’s team is in ninth place after one round at the Badger Invitational. Due to inclement weather, only one round has been completed.
For the women’s team, Liz Bennett leads the Hawkeyes with an 81 to place her in a tie for 20th. Shannon Fleming posted an 83 to put her in 27th. Teammates Virginie Bonfils and Karla Murra are tied at 31st with 85 apiece. Lauren Cole is tied for 35th with a score of 86.
On the men’s side, Bennett Hammerberg is tied for fifth with a par score of 72. Luke Miller is tied at 14th with 75 and Jon Feldick is tied at 35th with a score of 79. Tied at 42nd are Andy Tiedt and Erik Feldick, each posting an 82.
In order to allow adequate time for teams to return home, the tournament has been shortened from 54 to 36 holes. Play will resume on Sunday at 8 a.m.
