Libby just completed her third season serving as Iowa’s choreographer, beam coach and recruiting coordinator. Under her direction, the GymHawks have repeatedly broken the school beam record. Her recruiting efforts have brought some of the nation’s top classes to Iowa for three consecutive seasons and have given the GymHawks national recognition. The 2003 squad earned Iowa’s first-ever NCAA championship appearance as a team.
Libby and Assistant Coach Derek May also received regional recognition as North Central Region Assistant Coaches of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches for Women (NAACGC/W).
“Larissa has done an outstanding job during her first three seasons at Iowa and this is a much-deserved promotion,” said Lorenzen. “This promotion will give her increased leverage in the recruiting process and is a logical career advancement.”
