TOLMEZZO, ITALY – The University of Iowa women’s basketball team defeated Krupp Udine, 99-63, in the third game of its four-game exhibition tour of Italy.

The Hawkeyes had six players score in double figures. Junior Jamie Cavey led all scorers with 20 points. Sophomore Johanna Solverson collected 16 points. Seniors Jennie Lillis and Kristi Faulkner each scored 14 points. Sophomore Lindsay Richards recorded 12, while sophomore Crystal Smith added 10 points. Sophomore Tiffany Reedy led the team with five rebounds, while Smith collected a game-high three steals.

“I thought we played very good defense, especially in the second half,” said Iowa Head Coach Lisa Bluder. “Offensively, we did a good job of scoring on our fast breaks. I think Lindsay is starting to feel comfortable leading the team.”

Iowa’s final game on the exhibition tour will be Thursday against San Vitale in Mendrisio, Switzerland.
