Hawkeye Compete At Roy Griak Invite

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The University of Iowa men’s cross country team finished 17th out of 30 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational held on the Les Bolstad Golf Course at the University of Minnesota.

Leading the way for the Hawkeyes was sophomore Matt Esche, as he finished in 56th place with a time of 25:18. Sophomore Brian Rae was Iowa’s next highest runner, placing 74th in 25:31. Junior Chris Jensen finished in 98th place in a personal best time of 25:44, while Tony Rakaric placed 101st (25:45).

Wisconsin won the team title with 89 team points, while Brigham Young’s Kip Kangogo won the individual title with a time of 23:58.

The team will return to competition on October 18 for the pre-Nationals in Cedar Falls.
