The Iowa Hawkeyes will carry a No. 9 ranking in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 of college football into Columbus, OH, Saturday when Coach Kirk Ferentz’s squad squares off against No. 8 Ohio State. The game will be televised live by ABC-TV beginning at 2:30 p.m. Iowa time.
Iowa’s game at Ohio State is the second in a row for the Hawkeyes that will be televised live by ABC-TV. The Hawkeyes defeated Michigan in Iowa City two weeks ago; that victory was televised live by ABC-TV.

Iowa was ranked No. 14 last week by AP. The Hawkeyes also come in at No. 9 in this week’s ESPN/USA Today poll. Ohio State is No. 8 in both lists.
Oklahoma and Miami continue to rank one-two in the AP Top 25. Virginia Tech, Georgia and Southern Cal round out the top five.
Iowa and Ohio State shared the Big Ten’s football championship a year ago when both teams ran the table, posting 8-0 records in a year when they weren’t scheduled to play one another.
Ohio State is coming off a 17-10 loss at Wisconsin Saturday night. Iowa had last Saturday off. The Hawkeyes’ last competition was its victory over Michigan two weeks ago inside legendary Kinnick Stadium.
Iowa and Ohio State are joined by five other Big Ten teams in AP’s weekly list of the top college football teams: Purdue (13th), Wisconsin (14th), Michigan State (15th), Michigan (17th) and Minnesota (25th).
