A special 2004 Outback Bowl edition of Hawk Talk with Kirk Ferentz has been scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 6:30 p.m. inside Carlos O’Kelly’s Mexican Cafe on Gilbert St. in Iowa City. The 90-minute radio call-in show will also be broadcast live by participating stations on the Hawkeye Radio Network and via the world wide web compliments of hawkeyesports.com.

Kirk Ferentz will join host Gary Dolpin at 7 p.m. for the final 60 minutes of Hawk Talk.

Fans who can’t get there can e-mail a question to Kirk by visiting hawkeyefootball.com, the official world wide web site of the 2004 Outback Bowl-bound Iowa Hawkeyes, and clicking on the special “Ask Kirk” button.

Give Gary and Kirk a call on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Iowa time. The special edition of Hawk Talk will originate from Carlos O’Kelly’s Mexican Cafe in Iowa City, the home of Hawk Talk with Kirk Ferentz and Hawk Talk with Steve Alford.

The UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Hawkeye Radio Network will also broadcast a 90-minute special live from Stumps Supper Club at Channelside in Tampa on Monday, Dec. 29. That special will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature Dolphin, Mark Allen, UI staff, and other special guests. The event is open to the public and will include appearances by Herky, the UI cheerleaders and members of the UI Marching Band.
