Four-time honoree Jared Clauss and three-time honorees Sean Considine, Robert Gallery, Erik Jensen and Nate Kaeding head a list of 12 members of Iowa’s Outback Bowl-bound football team named to the 2003 academic All-Big Ten team.
Defensive lineman Jared Clauss was named to the Big Ten’s Academic All-Big Ten team for the fourth time this fall.

Clauss and Kaeding were earlier named to the 2003 Verizon Academic District VII all-America team. In 2002, Kaeding was named to the Verizon Academic all-America team. Clauss was a second team Verizon Academic District VII all-American in 2002.
To be eligible for an academic all-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners in at least their second academic year and carry a career grade point average of 3.0 or better.
Iowa, winners of 20 of its last 25 games and appearing in its second straight January bowl game for the first time in school history, will square off against Florida in the 2004 Outback Bowl on Jan. 1 in Tampa.
