Today's Outback Bowl Report

Christmas Day 2003

Iowa’s Updated Outback Bowl events list

There isn’t a snowflake or snowman in Tampa which probably gives the student-athletes and staff of the 2004 Outback Bowl-bound Iowa Hawkeyes a weird feeling about Christmas 2004.

Nonetheless, the Hawkeyes will celebrate the holiday with their first Florida-based practice in preparation for their date with the Florida Gators on Jan. 1 and it’s a pretty good bet one of the hardest hits of the day will in a likelihood be given by senior safety Bob Sanders.

Steve Batterson writes about the hard-hitting Hawkeye in today’s edition of the Quad City Times. “It’s the last game I’ll ever play for the Iowa Hawkeyes, and it’s going to be a special situation,” Sanders told Batterson. Click here for the full story.

The Hawkeyes are, in fact, not home for the holidays. So just where are they? The Iowa City Press-Citizen’s Kristen Schorsch takes you to the home-away-from-home for the squad, the Wyndham Harbour Island Hotel. Click here for the full story.
