IOWA CITY, IA – The sixth-ranked Iowa GymHawks won against 23rd-ranked Michigan, 196.75 – 196.325. The Hawkeyes had individual titles in every event and finished with the second best team total in school history.
Senior Stephanie Gran led Iowa with two individual titles and the all-around. Gran tied for first on vault with former Olympian Elise Ray (9.925) and won floor with a school-record tying 9.975. Gran also won the all-around with a score of 39.575.
Alexis Maday tied for first on beam (9.9) and scored a 9.975 on bars to place first and set a new school record. Iowa took the top three honors on bars, with freshman Beth Dilick placing second (9.925) and Gran tying for third (9.875).
The GymHawks will compete next at home against North Carolina State on January 31 beginning at 2 p.m.
