COLUMBIA, MO – The University of Iowa men’s swimming and diving team defeated Missouri 166-129 tonight in Columbia, MO at the Brewer Fieldhouse.
Junior Andrei Ciurca, sophomore Cameron Dye and freshman Mariusz Muras led the way for the Hawkeyes. Ciurca came away with victories in both the 100 and 200 backstroke. Dye finished in the top two in two freestyle events. He finished first in the 500 freestyle and second in the 200 freestyle. Muras had three solid finishes in the top three. He had a first place finish in the 200 butterfly, a second place finish in the 400 IM and a third place finish in the 100 butterfly.
The Hawkeyes will compete back at home this weekend at the UI Field House Pool this Friday and Saturday in the annual Senior Day meet against Big Ten opponent Northwestern. Competition will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.
