Lillis Named Academic All-District

Feb. 19, 2004

University of Iowa senior forward Jennie Lillis has been named to the 2004 Academic all-District second team. Lillis has a 3.51 GPA and will graduate this May with a degree in communication studies.

Lillis’ athletic achievements at the University of Iowa are outstanding. She is the first Iowa player to rank in the top ten in the five major statistical categories. Lillis ranks fifth in scoring and rebounding, third in blocks, sixth in steals and eighth in assists. The two-time all-Big Ten selection is also one of only three Iowa players to ever amass 300 points or more in a season all four years. The native of Urbandale holds the school record for free throws made (399) and attempted (530). A three-time captain, Lillis started every game but one during her illustrious Hawkeye career. She is also a two-time academic all-Big Ten selection.

Lillis and her Hawkeye teammates host No. 11 Minnesota tonight at 7:06 p.m. in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The winner of tonight’s contest will be tied with No. 20 Michigan State for third place in the Big Ten standings.
